The beauty that comes with hosting continental football events is that football infrastructure is renovated and construction of stadiums and training grounds is the epitome of the preparation process.

And that has been the emphasis so far as Rwanda tries to meet the CAF deadline that was set for October to have all stadiums ready for inspection by the continental governing body officials.

All the four host stadiums, including the Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu in the Western Province, Huye Stadium in the Southern Province, the Kigali Regional Stadium and Amahoro Stadium, are currently under renovation.

This too has come with the renovation of training grounds and in the long run will benefit the growth and development of football in Rwanda to fit the billing in the aftermath thus creating a threshold for the bigger picture that is to provide quality infrastructure.

Top quality football stadiums will trigger the growth of the sport in many aspects from the quality of football played, attracting sponsorship and most importantly the potential to host even bigger continental events and in this case the Africa Cup of Nations which has never been hosted by an East African nation.
