Only the naive expect action against FDLR

Editor,

RE: "Experts remain skeptical even as UN backtracks on FDLR demands” (The New Times, July 21).

It’s regrettable that some of those who stood by or even collaborated with the genocidal regime when the Tutsi were being brutally and heinously exterminated are the ones heading some of the decision-making departments of the United Nations.

In addition, some heads of state of the troop contributing countries (Monusco) are well known friends of FDLR leaders.

It would thus be naive of Rwanda to believe that the same friends of FDLR will shoot the militia group despite its terrible human rights record.
