Editor,

Congratulations Rwandans upon the 21st Liberation Anniversary!

As Rwanda celebrates, I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to our Liberation heroes and the people of Rwanda in general. This day reminds all of us of the heroism, courage, patriotism and martial prowess of the people of Rwanda.

It is also the symbol of what a united country under visionary leadership can achieve, the power of the people, a real pride and hope for us who are still struggling for our own liberation and other people in the same situation.

Liberation Day will always be sacred to every Rwandan and all freedom fighters all over the world as well.

We thank all the proud daughters and sons of Rwanda who fought for victory in the fierce battles, selflessly worked in the rear, and succeeded to put Rwanda, a country completely devastated by the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, out of turmoil and set it on a socio-economic development path and into an enviable position among the nations of the world.

And for those who gave their lives in defence of their homeland, we say we are proud of you, and the nation and people of Rwanda will always remember and honour them.

Bela
