Former Rwanda international central defender Aimable ‘Mambo’ Rucogoza has signed for Kenyan Premier League side Kenya Commercial Bank in a shock move from local league side Gicumbi for an undisclosed fee.

Rucogoza signed a three-year contract on Saturday to complete a move that will see him feature for the Nairobi club until 2018.

The former Rayon Sports player lauded the move, saying, "I am a KCB player and I am here to help them win trophies. I will do my best to ensure that I help the team in this season.”

Rucogoza, who also played for Nyanza and Espoir, has spent several weeks in Kenya undergoing trials and discussing terms. He will earn US$1000 (about Rwf0.75m) per month.

The veteran defender becomes the latest player from the Rwandan league to sign for a Kenyan club following Abouba Sibomana and Karim Nizigiyimana who joined Gor Mahia in January from Rayon Sports.

Others are; Burundian Fuadi Ndayisenga and Rwanda international Aphrodis ‘Kanombe’ Hategekimana, who signed for Sofapaka Rayon Sports last week.

KCB are currently in 13th position in the Kenyan Premier League with 13 points after 15 rounds of matches.
