Gospel music enthusiasts are warming up for what is billed to be an " unforgettable” concert, as Kigali international choir, commonly known by its French name, Choeur international et ensemble instrumental de Kigali (CIEIK), holds a concert at Lemigo Hotel, Kigali, on Friday.

Dubbed, "All time songs,” the concert begins at 6 PM and will feature live performances and amazing gospel hymns in Kinyarwanda, French, Dutch, English, Swahili and Russian, among other languages.

According to Claude Safari, one of the organisers, "the concert aims at giving gospel music lovers great music that will help them grow spiritually, but also to prepare for the ‘Kenya Africa sings’ concert in Nairobi, next month.”

The choir started in 2006 with its main offices at St Paul in Kigali. It is made up of artistes from different choirs across the country.

"Just like the way a soccer team prepares a friendly match when it is expecting a certain tournament, is the same way we have organised this event to get prepared for the Kenyan festival and the international festival,” said Benjamin Mushinzimana, the technical director.

Mushinzimana added that the choir will represent Rwanda at two other international festivals in Italy and France from July7-24.

Safari encouraged gospel enthusiasts to attend the concert on Friday. Entrance fee is Rwf5000 and Rwf10,000 in the general and VIP section respectively.
