ADB and APAD hit top gear over the weekend as the Fina bank sponsored schools cricket tournament got underway in Kicukiro.

ADB registered back to back wins over Kagarama and a Kigali combined side to book its place in the semi-finals.

Rwanda’s international all-rounder Andre Kayitera masterminded both wins.

Against the Kigali combined side, the 19-year-old picked three wickets and finished unbeaten on 34 to guide his school to a convincing eight-wicket victory.

In the other game, he fired ADB in the driving seat after another convincing all round display.

Else where, after trouncing Lycee de Kigali by 30 runs, APAD looked set for another win against EFOTEC, formerly ETO Kicukiro before bad light stopped play.

The two sides settled for a tie.

In the girls’ section, Apred Ndera and Kagarama are through to the finals after wins over APAD and a Kigali combined side.

The tournament continues this Saturday at the same venue.

EFOTEC (boys) and Ndera (girls) are the defending champions.
