Voting for the best broadcasters in the country kicked off this week. 

The Rwanda Broadcasters Excellence Awards 2015 (RBEA) will see 23 personalities recognized for their outstanding work on both radio and television for the year 2014. The voting which will last one month is being carried out online and through SMS. 

Speaking to The New Times; Emmanuel Junior Mugisha, the Managing Director of East African Youth Development Agency which is organising the ceremony, said that the aim was to motivate the broadcasting industry and also help listeners and viewers to appreciate their favourite presenters.

Aline Tuyishime, a sports presenter at Contact FM and a nominee said she was happy journalists were being honored. 

Luckman Nizeyimana, a presenter at Lemigo TV said that the awards would inspire hard work among presenters. Winners will each walk away with a plaque and cash prizes.
