Gospel singers pray for peace in Burundi

Local and Burundian gospel artistes will perform in a concert aimed at praying for peace and security in Burundi, ahead of the presidential elections slated for next month. The concert will be held at Christian Life Assembly in Nyarutarama, tomorrow, May 31.

Local and Burundian gospel artistes will perform in a concert aimed at praying for peace and security in Burundi, ahead of the presidential elections slated for next month. The concert will be held at Christian Life Assembly in Nyarutarama, tomorrow, May 31.

Thousands of Burundians fled the country, in the past few weeks to escape pre-election violence in Burundi after President Pierre Nkurunziza declared his intention to stand for a third term.

Apollinaire Habonimana is among the most celebrated gospel singers in the region.

The Burundian artists who have confirmed performing at tomorrow’s concert include, Dudu Niyikuri, Fabrice Nzeyimana and Apollinaire Habonimana. They will perform with local artistes Aime Uwimana, Simon Kabera, Luc Buntu, Alexis Dusabe, Patient Bizimana, The Sisters, Serge and Eddy Mico.

The concert will take place in the evening and it’s free.
