V-ball league: Kirehe target top four finish

Kirehe Volleyball Club have set themselves a target to finish in the top four in their first season in the National Volleyball League, according to head coach Jean Casius Isibo.

The Nyakarambi-based side is in fifth position on the table with 15 points, one point behind Kigali Volleyball.

Kirehe will play their last three regular season league games against Lycee de Nyanza, Rusumo High School and Umubano Blue Tigers while Kigali Volleyball Club have a lot of work to do to break into the top four and book a place in the playoffs.

"My team is still young but our aim is to continue building a strong team for the future. The target this season is to finish in top four and play in the playoffs,” said Isibo.

On Saturday, Kirehe surprised defending champions APR after beating them 3-1 at Amahoro Indoor Stadium and they followed it with a 3-0 success over KVC.

Rayon Sports beat Umubano Blue Tigers and Rusumo High School 3-0 on Saturday and Sunday respectively, which keeps them top of the table with 29 points level with Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Education (INATEK) while APR is in third position with 24 points.

In women category, Rwanda Revenue Authority lead the table with 36 points with one game in hand against Ruhango while APR is in second position with 35 points.
