Businessesand Rwandans in general can now communicate with relatives, friends and  business associates in Europe and South Sudan with ease, thanks to new affordable call rates unveiled by Airtel last week.

According to Teddy Bhullar, the Airtel Rwanda managing director, Rwandans can now make calls to EU countries, like France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Spain and Italy, for as low as Rwf30 per minute "through the firm’s Rwf300 daily international pack for 10 minutes”.

He added that customers can now make cross-net calls to South Sudan for Rwf69 per minute, down from Rwf245 previously.

The reduction (for South Sudan) is part of Airtel Rwanda’s commitment to the ‘One Network Area’ agreement among countries in the Northern Corridor, he said.

"This offer will address the growing need of customers to make affordable calls to regional and international destinations. It is also aimed at ensuring customers get value-for-money while using the Airtel network, and enable them stay connected,” Bhullar pointed out.

To benefit from the low call rates for Europe, Airtel customers can dial *456*300#.
