A shopper enjoys Fourth Generation Long-Term Evolution, commonly known as 4G LTE network services at the Simba Supermarket - Kimihurira.

The supermarket chain launched the service last week to enhance services to customers, according to Ngarambe Justine, the managing director.

Speaking at the event, Rosemary Mbabazi, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Youth and ICT, urged other firms to embrace the supermarket’s model, arguing that they should not leave the provision of such services to only big companies.

"This service will help us save time as we do our shopping. It will also assist in avoiding boredom,” said Simon, a shopper. 4G LTE provides the fasted Internet to date.

The standard which is ten-fold faster than the previous ones was launched in Rwanda last year under the ‘Smart Rwanda’ initiative.
