Police Football Club head Coach Andre Casa Mbungo has warned his rivals to expect a serious title challenge next season from his team as he transforms Police into a football powerhouse in Rwanda.

Police, who are in third place with 45 points (by press time) have not been consistent this season after losing several first team players like Sina Jerome, Jimmy Mbaraga, Kipson Atuheire, Peter Kagabo, Moussa Ndusha Mutuyimana and Moussa Habimana.

"We have not been consistent enough this season partly because of the several changes in the first team but we are in the process of building a strong team that will dominate next season and for some time to come,” Mbungo said.

Police have already showed their seriousness in winning trophies next season by dipping in the transfer market early after recruiting two midfielders Anderson Neza and Mohamed Mushimiyimana.

Neza is a defensive midfielder recruited from Sec Academy while Mushimiyimana signed as a free agent after his contract with AS Kigali ended.

Police is also monitoring Marines striker Bienvenue Mugenzi with the law enforcers also looking to add five or six players in the transfer window. 

Mbungo is one of the most respected local coaches after helping the team to reach the semi finals of the Cecafa Kagame Cup in their debut appearance. 

The former SEC Academy coach also guided AS Kigali to the 2013 Peace Cup triumph.
