Editor,

Allow me to congratulate the Rwanda National Police (refer to the article, "Four rescued from suspected human traffickers”, published in The New Times on May 10) for their outstanding performance and professionalism, particularly in investigating and combating human trafficking and other organised cross-border and transnational crimes within the region and beyond.

These officers have honestly saved lives of innocent citizens who traded and trafficked just like any other commodity.

How I wish more efforts could be consolidated to educate, teach and mentor our youth on the dangers and risks involved in these dirty illegal businesses, how they are carried out and the likely outcome/consequences!

Let us all join hands to fight and eradicate human trafficking and related crimes.
