Editor,

Refer to the story, "FERWAFA mistakes return to haunt Amavubi” (The New Times, April 27). This article is incomplete.

How did this situation arise? Who is to blame? The players’ respective clubs or Rwanda Football Association (FERWAFA). What roles did the players themselves have in this double identity crisis? What was the purpose (what was to be gained, and by whom)?

What evidence is being submitted by FERWAFA to prove that the players’ ages are much lower than stated by their clubs?

It should be noted that clubs usually have greater interest to understate rather than inflate ages as that increases their players’ transfer value because of the longer projected playing period, so why would clubs overstate the players’ ages in this case?

Something is not right in FERWAFA. The association clearly needs to sort itself and its administrative procedures extensively before it can start doing so for our national game. Sinon, rien ne changera. Point!
