Africhem Rwanda Ltd has partnered with Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) to keep Kigali’s home of cricket, the Kicukiro cricket ground in shape.

Africhem will use their product, Confidor which is an insecticide specifically made to kill termites. This treatment costs over Rwf2m.

"We are very pleased about cricket development in Rwanda and we would like to support its expansion as much as we can. This is the second time we are spraying the ground,” said the Africhem Managing Director Paolo Paganin.

RCA general manager, Joshua Mwanja said, "We are really glad that Africhem has come on board to help us maintain the ground because proper playing grounds facilitate the growth of the game.”

The Kicukiro cricket ground hosts up to 140 cricket games per annum with all the five women’s and 10 men’s clubs playing their home games at this pitch in up to four tournaments including the Twenty 20 and 50 over formats.

Seventy schools within the City of Kigali including primary and secondary schools also play their games at this ground attracting up to 5000 players throughout the year. The ground is also used for developmental programs at community level as well as corporate cricket.
