Muhanga keen to halt Sorwathe winning streak in Div.2 League

Muhanga will be hoping to put a stop to Sorwathe’s winning run when the two giants square-off this afternoon in a pool B league encounter at Muhanga stadium.

The Muhanga district-sponsored side are having a rough start of the league’s return-leg phase after picking up just one point from their last games against Bugesera and Rwamagana, but coach Felix Mbonyizana is backing his side to shock the visiting side.

Sorwathe are still the only second division championship side yet to lose a game this season and will be keen on extending the record according to head coach Jean Jacques Muteba.

Rulindo-based Sorwathe FC have won ten and drawn four out of fourteen league matches this season so far.

Elsewhere in pool B, joint table leaders Bugesera FC host third-placed Rwamagana at ETO Nyamata grounds at 2:30pm, Esperance play away to struggling Akagera, Huye-based Intare face Miroplast, Interforce and Golden generation lock horns at FERWAFA turf at 3:30pm while Kirehe play Unity FC .

In Pool A, former topflight league side La Jeunesse entertain Ndera-based Heroes FC at Mumena stadium at 1pm, joint table leaders Nyagatare visit Cox Muleyi’s Pepiniere, Sec Academy face Vision Jeunesse, Vision FC face Gitikinyoni, Etoile de l’Est will be up against Aspor while United Stars and Gatsibo-based Hope FC face-off at Kabagari playgrounds at 2:30pm.

As it stands, La Jeunesse and Nyagatare FC with 31 points apiece lead pool A table while Bugesera and Sorwathe stand top of pool B with 34 points each.
