Refer to the letter, "UK charity welcome to serve Rwandan kids” (The New Times, April 22).

I have been reading various short and precise letters from Clarence Fernandes in this paper and I am compelled to express my recognition of what I believe to be a rare sense of commitment, passion and determination to contribute to socio-economic transformation in Rwanda.

To me, Mr. Fernandes is an unsung hero for Rwanda in the making. His endeavours ought to be recognised and commended.

Imagine if we had many like him in our society, and around the world, to contribute to the transformation of our country on one hand and to inspire others to emulate his examples on the other!
