It is a common trend for artistes to move from one country to another in search for greener pastures. Ugandan upcoming Afro-fusion music duo of Raymond Cwinyaii, aka Wenda and his brother Emmanuel Osaga—better known as OS Emmaxy, are currently pursuing their music career in Kigali—and they say they’re determined to break into the country’s growing music industry. 

The duo launched their music career in 2007 with their single, West Nile Girl – that earned them recognition on Uganda’s music scene. The brothers are signed to the Ugandan music label, Pinoxy Entertainment, although they are based in Rwanda.

In an interview with The New Times, Wenda, said, "The reason we came to do music here, was because we appreciate the Rwandan music. It’s original, the artistes are talented and well-mannered compared to those in Uganda. We have learnt a lot about the Rwandan music industry and we want to contribute to its growth.”

The two relocated to Rwanda two years ago and they live in Nyamirambo in Nyarugenge District. The group sings in Luo, Kiswahili and English. Wenda and OS Emmaxy are natives of Nebbi District in Northern Uganda—the former is a hotel marketer and the latter a technician with Techno Phone Company.

The Ugandan musicians have propelled their way to the periphery of Rwanda’s showbiz, thanks to their clever mix of viable tracks and hard-core jams.

Recently, the duo released their dance banger, Follow My Way, featuring local artiste Micho The Best, a party anthem that will soon propel them to regional stardom. They’re also working on a brand new track dubbed, Stress Free, featuring upcoming Rwandan Social Mulla that will be out on April 27.

The duo believes the single will stamp their name as a powerhouse on the country’s music scene.

Some of their songs, such as Nyaragoro and Winner, among others, have been receiving massive air play on local radio stations and they predict the new offering will be even more popular.
