A delegation from Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College has lauded the collaboration that exists between Rwanda Defense Forces (RDF) and the citizenry.

The delegation, in the country on study tour which runs from April 18 to 25, was yesterday visiting Kigali Genocide Memorial site at Gisozi, where they paid tribute to thousands of Genocide victims buried there.

"I am pleased wit the way RDF has become part of the community,” Brigadier General K. Osei Sarfo, who heads the 20 member delegation, said.

"I really appreciate the way the army works with the community in developing the country through civil-military activities,” he added.

 Sarfo also hailed the RDF’s contribution towards peace keeping and peace restoration on the continent.

Brigadier General K. Osei Sarfo served  in the United Nations Mission for Rwanda (MINUAR) during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

 Major Peter Amoah, one of the students, said countries should join hands in fighting genocide idealogy.

"What we have seen here is horrible; killers did not spare even children. We have learned more about what happened in this country, before, during and after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi,” Major Amoah said.

The visit to the memorial was preceded by a meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff of Rwanda Defence Forces General Patrick Nyamvumba , who briefed the delegation on the RDF structure and engagements.

The delegation will also visit RDF Command and Staff College in Nyakinama, Rwanda Peace Academy, and various ministries.
