We’ve all heard of testosterone, the androgen steroid hormone that is commonly linked to male sexuality. It stimulates the growth of normal male sexual organs, leads to deepening of the male voice, stimulates facial and pubic hair growth, and is essential in the sexual behaviour of men.

We’ve all heard of testosterone, the androgen steroid hormone that is commonly linked to male sexuality. It stimulates the growth of normal male sexual organs, leads to deepening of the male voice, stimulates facial and pubic hair growth, and is essential in the sexual behaviour of men. 

With this in mind, it’s natural for a woman to feel "out of place” should testosterone prevail. With deep voices and hairy bodies, some women are forced to hide away or feel ashamed of their nature because they might be mistaken for transgenders.

In our main story today, a few women talk about their male attributes and health experts help explain the problem, and how it could be addressed.
