Everyone can feel anxious when faced with frightening circumstances especially before deeply taking an important decision on how to manage certain situations.

There are very many anxiety disorders that can lead to distress or bring about disorders that can interfere with our ability to lead a normal life.

A few weeks back, I had persistent calls from a relative whom I had not met for more than two years. I felt it was a good gesture to hear from him and share with him familial light moments since I had failed to give him time due to my busy schedule time.

The story from him was not as fruitful as I expected. It had a lot of fear and anxiety challenges and ultimately very frightening. When I sat back on the sidelines to take a deep thought on the whole conversation, realized that it comprised of many generalized social disorders.

This kind of disorder is characterized by exaggerated and excessive anxiety problem. It constitutes worry about daily life events even with no obvious reasons to worry about. Individuals who present with such disorders tend to expect a disaster even when it has no alarm or when it is far away from reach.

This kind of worry is often unrealistic with no facts behind. Such individuals are always good candidates for clinical psychologists to help them overcome chronic fear and anxiety that might dominate their daily lives.

This situation always needs urgent intervention because it makes a person have constant state of worry and fear. Chronic anxiety can dominate individual thoughts to interfere with her or his daily duties.

Sometimes we need to understand where such memories can originate in our body system in order to overcome them. These emotions come from the central nervous system, as fear and anxiety are memories that are stored in our brain system.

The three most prominent regions where memories are stored include; the cerebellum, basal ganglia and amdgal, the bulbs that hang off the ends of your medial temporal lobes.

The fear and anxiety-related memories stored in your brain system can be triggered by various circumstances or number of stimuli in the everyday life to produce chronic fear and anxiety.

Your body is designed to store and recall emotional memories to keep you alive. For example, to have the stimulus of seeing a horrible accident can trigger your emotional memory of fear (stored in your amygdalae) as a good thing that prompts you to take constant measures to preserve your life.

The problem with chronic fear and anxiety is that these emotions sap your resources and make your self-preservation mechanisms become inefficient. This also means that the longer you experience chronic fear and anxiety, the worse your overall health becomes.

From my perspective, I think that in order to overcome unhelpful fear and anxiety, you need to create memories that can modify or overpower the memories in your central nervous system that are responsible for these harmful emotions.

But this is not easy due to the fact that most of present memories are deeply established electrically and chemically modulated to produce quick responses. This also means individuals with such memories can produce toxic or bad speeches.
