Former champions APR thrashed struggling 30- Plus in the national basketball league on Saturday at Kacyiru courts as the club’s run of good form continues. The three-time Fiba Africa Zone Five Champions APR’s center forward, Parfait Ishimwe was unstoppable scoring a game high 18 points.

Currently APR are 5th in the 11-team league with 14 points from seven matches, having won five and only lost two to newcomers Patriots and defending champions Espoir respectively.

APR technician and former Kenyan international, Cliff Owuor praised his youthful squad for putting in such a dominant performance but warned his players to stay calm and vigilant.

"Congratulations to the players, they successfully did what was supposed to be done. However, there is still a lot of work to be done, from here we shift attention to Friday’s encounter against IPRC- South,” Owuor said in a post-match interview.

Elsewhere on Saturday, IPRC- South lost 55-67 to counterparts of IPRC- Kigali in Huye district while UR- College of Arts and Social Sciences (UR- CASS) defeated UR College of Education (UR- CoE) 42-29 to register their second win of the season.

In what was regarded as the match of the weekend, last year’s first runners-up Cercle Sportif de Kigali (CSK) at their own grounds were humiliated by reigning champions Espoir 79-52 on Sunday.
