Nigeria’s Davido and Rema in Kigali for Trace Awards

Several international musicians are in Kigali for the highly anticipated Trace Awards and among them are Nigeria’s superstars Davido and Rema who jetted in last night for this evening’s Trace Award ceremony, at BK Arena.

The two big artistes in Africa and across the world are nominated in the Best Male category alongside Burna Boy, Asake, Diamond Platnumz, Didi B and K.O.

Davido who was in Kigali for the Giants of Africa closing ceremony in August, will also give an electric performance that people are excited for.

Rema, who last performed in Kigali last year on November 20, won Best Afrobeats Song for his remix with American singer Selena Gomez, ‘ Calm Down&039; at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Trace marks a historic moment, as it is the first of its kind to draw such a substantial number of mega-music celebrities to the capital of Rwanda.

The awards feature several categories, including Song of the Year, Best Artist Africa Franco, Best Artist Africa Luso, Best Artist Anglo, Best Collaboration, Best DJ, Best Male Artist, Best Live Performance, Best Female Artist, Best Artist in France and Belgium, Best Newcomers, and Best Artist Rwanda.

Other categories, including Best Artists in the United Kingdom, Best Gospel Artist, Best Artist in the Caribbean, Best Artist in the Indian Ocean, Best Music Videos, Best Artist in North Africa, Best Artist in Brazil, Best Producer, and Album of the Year.

The awarding ceremony is also accompanied by a three-day festival taking place at Kigali Convention & Exhibition Village (KCEV) on October 20-22.
