He was apprehended on suspicion of accepting a bribe in exchange for issuing a certificate of quality.

According to a RIB statement, Uwitonze was caught red-handed as he received a bribe of Rwf 25 million, on October 20.

The suspect is currently detained at Kimihurura Station while his file is being processed to be submitted to the National Public Prosecution Authority's Office.

In the same statement, RIB expresses its appreciation for individuals who consistently refrain from participating in corrupt activities and, instead, choose to provide information that leads to the apprehension and prosecution of those involved in accepting bribes.
