We need a practical model to achieve quality in universities

Editor, It is imperative that all universities initiate an honours programme where the very best students, based on their performance, would have access to the best programmes and teachers. By doing this you would more quickly establish a model for what defines first-rate education which then can be implemented for all students.

It is imperative that all universities initiate an honours programme where the very best students, based on their performance, would have access to the best programmes and teachers. By doing this you would more quickly establish a model for what defines first-rate education which then can be implemented for all students.

But trying to raise the standards for everyone at the same time is either impossible or will be so slow such that the University of Rwanda will fall further behind the pace to achieve the goal of improving the educational offerings for its citizens.

This is the single fastest and least costly improvement one can make which will have the most immediate positive impact.
