Youngster Ernest Mugabushaka netted a brace to help AS Muhanga rout struggling Akagera 4-0 on match-day 8 in the second division league at Muhanga stadium on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old Mugabushaka scored the second and fourth goal for former top flight division side after Gonzalez Rutinywa had opened the scoring and Ngabo Mucyo added the second.

The win lifted Muhanga into fifth place in the 12-team Pool B table with 13 points, six points behind joint table leaders Rwamagana and Sorwathe. Rwamagana won 1-0 way to Miroplast while Sorwathe defeated Golden Generation away 2-1.

Speaking to Times Sport on Thursday, Muhanga head coach Felix Mbonyizana, said, "After a poor start to the season, we are slowly adapting well and our target is returning to the topflight league.”

In pool A, table leaders La Jeunesse were held to a 1-all draw by Gasabo, Nyagatare won 2-0 over SEC Academy to climb into second position, Vision Jeunesse were stunned 1-0 by Heroes.
