Rid us of scandalous pastors

I have been following with disbelieve the reports that a senior pastor in Kigali was being investigated for alleged defilement and rape of his female congregation.

If these allegations are true, then brethren let us all stand up and condemn it because this is not only a disgrace to his church members but also to the entire Christian congregation.

First of all, the fact that this man has already been summoned by police to answer queries relating to these allegations deems it necessary for him not to stand on the pulpit to preach the word of God until he is cleared.

I am also appalled by allegations that some parents who were approached by their daughters telling them they were being sexually harassed by the pastor decided to shut up these young girls for fear that they would ‘scandalize’ their ‘saintly’ pastor.

I find this ridiculous! Why turn deaf ears to these girls in an effort to protect the church, more so the pastor because the church has nothing to do with this!

I insist, if these allegations are true, then we should as a whole community condemn it because it is a disgrace not only to us all churchgoers and there should be a regulatory body within the community to levy sanctions to such characters.
