Engen set to acquire Total Rwanda

Engen Petroleum Limited, a South Africa petroleum products company is set to buy Total Rwanda, Mamadou Ndom, Director General, Total Rwanda has confirmed.

He could not hover divulge the details of the deal saying he was out of the country.

The New Times has learnt that Engen will acquire Total’s entire shareholding in Rwanda, including—the 19 service stations and one depot.

Of the existing petroleum companies in the country, Total boasts of 22 per cent of the market share.

Engen’s entry into the Rwandan Market comes just a few months Vangold Resources Ltd, a Canadian oil, gas and mineral corporation was selected to explore the availability of oil deposits in the western province.
