AS Kigali WFC have made it clear that they will only release goalkeeper Angeline Ndakimana to Saudi Arabian Division 1 Women's club Al Nors for an amount in the region of $30,000 (Rwf36,7 million).

Times Sport can confirm that the Saudi Arabian club, through one of their agents in Africa, contacted the Rwandan champions about the availability of the Rwanda Women national team goalkeeper as they attempt to sign her.

The club wanted to take Ndakimana on a loan deal during which it would cover her wages with an option to permanently sign her at the end of the season.

The Kigali-based club is, however, not keen to let the shot stopper leave unless Al Nors buy her release clause which is pegged at $30,000.

The Saudi Arabian side is thus backing off from the deal and is now considering signing a Kenyan Women national team goalkeeper as Ndakimana’s alternative.

Currently, striker Florence Imanizabayo, who plies her trade at Ugandan side Kampala Queens, is the only Rwandan female footballer paying I a foreign league and the possible departure of Ndakimana could open doors for more women players in the near future.
