Muhindo rescues draw for Amagaju

Striker Jean Piere Muhindo scored a late goal as Amagaju held Kiyovu to a 2-2 draw yesterday in the National football league.

Amagaju scored first through Hakim Mutabazi in the first half but then went on to waste several chances and were punished by Kiyovu striker Baby Miyami Mbakiye who grabbed a brace in the 37th and 44th minute, that gave his side a 2-1 half-time lead.

Nyamirambo based Kiyovu controlled the game in the second half until Muhindo equalised for the visitors in additional time.

Elsewhere, Isonga held Gicumbi to a goalless draw in Gicumbi, Sunrise and Mukura also drew 1-1 in Rwamagana while Rusizi-based Espoir beat Musanze FC 1-0 in Rusizi.

Meanwhile, Ferwafa postponed the AS Kigali- Police tie due to heavy rains. It was not immediately clear when the two sides will face off. AS Kigali is second on the league table while Police is in 5th.

Kiyovu’s Baby M. Mbakiye is the league’s top scorer with nine goals. Jean Pierre Muhindo of Amagaju is second with eight, Marines’ Bienvenue Mugenzi and AS Kigali’s Ernest Sugira have six goals each, while Isaie Songa, from AS Kigali, completes the top 5 list with five goals.
