Senators visit Nyamata Genocide site

BUGESERA: Members of the upper chamber of parliament, the Senate paid homage to the dead on Wednesday at Nyamata Genocide Memorial Site.

BY JAMES TASAMBAEASTERN PROVINCE BUGESERA: Members of the upper chamber of parliament, the Senate paid homage to the dead on Wednesday at Nyamata Genocide Memorial Site. Led by the Senate President, Dr Vincent Biruta, they wore purple ribbons. After touring the inside of the horrific site with remains of over 39000 Genocide victims, the senators lay a wreath at the cemetery.Dr Biruta later told reporters that the visit was in line with the legislators’ commitment to rout Genocide tendencies from the Rwandan society. The senator handed over Frw1m cheques to guide Kamana who is also a Genocide survivor.
