TORERO Café is an artistic café officially opening this month; it is an initiative of the emerging Rwandan film-maker Daddy Ruhorahoza and Kara Dahl.

Torero Cafe also helps in promoting young up-coming artists and poets in developing their talent and helping them get the materials in their work plus accessing the market easily.

"Torero Café is a space of creativity and tolerance. It aims at promoting arts and culture and we believe that Kigalians and Kigali visitors deserve a great place where they can enjoy working, dining and socializing in a very artistic atmosphere,” explains Kara Dahl.

Asked why the name Torero Cafe, Kara disclosed that the name comes from Itorero; of which Itorero used to be about  bringing together community’s.

Torero Café is also be a café in Rwanda where the public can enjoy theatre performances and one man shows, acoustic music, dance classes, art exhibitions, movie screenings, amateur photo contests, poetry readings, unique meals and many other artistic and cultural activities.

The Cafe has invited in an artistic consultant, Nandita Dinesh, who helps them to coordinate the performance-based events.

The Cafe will help the youth develop their talents as well be a centre for poetry for people from all corners of the world.
