Rafiki, Brazza release collabo

Local artiste Rafiki Mazimpaka, who disappeared from the music scene after the release of his two videos- In Love, featuring Shanel, and Boom Boom, with Bacti in 2011, seems to be planning a comeback.

The singer, commonly known as Rafiki, told The New Times, that he has done the remix of the song called, Yameze amenyo, with Burundi-based Rwandan musician Saidi Brazza Ahishakiye.

"I grew up listening to Ahishakiye’s music and when I recently met him with Jean Baptiste Dushime, I proposed to him the project and he got interested,” said Rafiki.

The duo’s audio remix is expected to be released today, February 12. Yameze amenyo is a 2008 track that introduced Ahishakiye to fame.

Rafiki, who started singing in 1998, is regarded as one of the artistes who positively influenced the perception of young musicians during his start out years.

He has more than 32 singles and two albums to his name, and has shared stage with international music stars such as P-Square, Brick and Lace, Sean Paul, Shaggy and Lauryn Hill.
