Isonga Football Club yesterday registered their first win in Rwanda National Football League after beating Rusizi-based Espoir 1-0.

Striker Danny Usengimana scored the lone goal in the first half, giving hope to the youthful side that they can avoid relegation.

Isonga are still bottom of the league with 7 points, seven points behind 13th placed Etincelles.

Second placed AS Kigali failed to take advantage of closing in on league leaders APR after losing to Marines 2-0. Prosper Nzabonimpa and Haruna Muvunyi scored for the Rubavu-based side.

APR can increase their lead at the top of the league table to 7 points if they beat Etincelles this afternoon in Rubavu.

In other matches, Kiyovu beat Mukura 1-0, while Amagaju lost 2-3 at home to Gicumbi.

Meanwhile Rayon Sports travels to Musanze this afternoon with interim coach Sosthene Habimana looking to arrest the poor run that the Nyanza-based side has seen which also led to the sacking of Coach Andy Mfutila last week.
