Local businessman Assinapol Rwigara died last night in a fatal road accident in Kagugu cell, Kinyinya sector.

Rwigara, who was driving a Mercedes Benz, registration number RAC 391E, rammed into a Mercedes Benz truck, registration no. RAC 806B at 9.00pm last night.

Traffic and Road Safety Department Spokesperson CIP Emmanuel Kabanda confirmed the accident and said that Rwigara died on the spot, while the truck driver fled the accident scene.

Police has since mounted a search for the truck driver. The deceased is a renowned businessman with interest in tobacco trade and real estate.
