Senior Volleyball head coach Paul Bitok has named a 36-player provisional squad ahead of the upcoming Men’s Zone V group one tournament, which will run from May 1-6 at Amahoro indoor stadium in Remera.

A pre-selection competition was held on February 7-8 to pick the final team that would represent Rwanda in the regional championships, which will serve as qualifier for the 2015 All Africa Games to be held in Congo Brazzaville from September 4 to 19.

The Zone V group one event will feature Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and hosts Rwanda.

The second group will play in Ethiopia from May 7-13 attracting Ethiopia, Egypt, Sudan, Djibouti, Eritrea and Somalia. The winners in each group will qualify for the All Africa Games.

Meanwhile, the local beach volleyball technical department will have trials on January 31 and February 1, to name the national squad for the continental tournament.  The Men’s Beach V-ball zone championships will be staged in Tanzania from April 16 to 20 with Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia all expected to take part. The top two will earn qualification.

Setters: Herve Kagimbura, Bonny Mutabazi, Thierry Mugabo, Jean Paul Sibomana, Faustin Kiramira and Eugene Tuyishimye.

Middle blockers: Theodore Muyango, Fred Musoni, Fabrice Nkezabahizi, Vincent Dusabimana, Alfred Muvunyi, William Mudahemuka, Placide John Sibomana, Guillaume Irakarama, Pierre Marshal Kwizera, and Gustave Rukundo.

Left attackers: Olivier Ntagengwa, Christophe Danny Mukunzi, Flavien Ndamukunda, Yves Mutabazi, Barrack Rugira, Patrick Kavalo, Richard Muhirwa, Tony Shyaka and Aimable Mutuyimana.

Right attackers: Lawrence Yakan Guma, Nelson Muragwa, Samuel Niyogisubizo, Evode Munyandinda, Adolphe Mutoni and Felix Niyomugabo.

Libero: Bosco Mutabazi, Emile ‘Dada’ Karera, Theoneste Ntakarebaho and Peter Bigirimana.
