Cycling talent detection competition set for today

Cycling Club for All (CCA) in collaboration with Gisagara District have organised a one-day competition on Sunday (today) aimed at scouting future Team Rwanda riders.

Cycling Club for All (CCA) in collaboration with Gisagara District have organised a one-day competition on Sunday (today) aimed at scouting future Team Rwanda riders.

According the organizers, Cycling Club for All, up to 73 riders both men and women have registered and the riders will compete for 65km for men while women will do 20km.

The winner in the men and women above 20 years’ category will receive Rwf100,000 and a sports bike; second will get bike and Rwf50,000 while the third will receive Rwf50,000.

For the U20, the top three will get Rwf100,000, Rwf50,000 and Rwf50,000 respectively.

The Cycling Club for All CCA president, Lambert Byemayire, who was the first head of the Rwanda Cycling Federation, said, "We need to get riders to join the Cycling Club for All and Team Rwanda, so we want to get best from them and we will continue to follow them.”

The men will ride from Rwabuye – Imberabyombi/Huye – Kaminuza – Tumba – Rango – Nkubi – Sahera – Kansi – Kibirizi – Mubishya – Muganza – Ndora – Musha – Rwanza – Inzu mberabyombi/Huye while the women category will ride through; Musha – Rwanza – Imberabyombi.
