Arthur Nkusi joins Kiss FM

Arthur Nkusi

When Arthur Nkusi came back after being evicted from Big Brother Africa season 9, he openly admitted that he wasn’t going to work on radio again. His remarks sparked debate in entertainment circles with some claiming that he was feeling "too big” for the profession that made him who he is. It is around that time that Arthur also said that he had a project with BBA 9 housemate, Luis from Namibia, which would see them document a reality show and sell it to M-Net Africa. However, that has not been possible since Luis hasn’t been able to travel to Rwanda.

According to our snoops, the project may have hit a snag and prompted Arthur to join radio again, although joining Kiss FM didn’t come as a surprise.

Jay Polly’s second concert flops

The reigning Primus GumaGuma Super Star season 4 winner and self-proclaimed ‘Kabaka’ (king) has so far failed to live up to the hype surrounding him as one of the country’s best musicians. Jay Polly held his first concert on December, 12 2014 at Petit Stade Amahoro and according to our scouts, it was a huge flop.

The turn-up was very poor, the sound was bad and there was a lot of bad publicity in the build-up to the concert. He later decided to stage another concert in Rubavu (Western Province) on January 2, 2015. On the D-day by the time he got to Rubavu, the venue was empty, prompting Jay Polly to return to Kigali and refund people’s money. What a way to end the year, and begin it too!

Diamond and Zari to tie the knot in April

They are probably the hottest couple in East Africa right now and if word coming in from Tanzania is anything to go by, then we are about to witness one of East Africa’s biggest weddings. According to our scouts in Tanzania, celebrated musician Diamond Platnumz and Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan are set to tie the knot in April this year.

After successfully performing at concerts in Uganda, Burundi, and Rwanda, in the company of his girlfriend, the couple went to Tanzania together and it is there that the announcement was made during an interview with a leading Tanzanian Swahili newspaper.

However, our snoops tell us that Zari, who was married before and has three children, is yet to finalise her divorce. How that plays out, we wait to see.

Bruce Melody leaves Super Level Records

Well, before the dust could settle over the chaos that was caused by the exit of Amag the Black and Fireman, our scouts have since learnt that RnB superstar Bruce Melody has also thrown in the towel at the Nyamirambo based Super Level Records.

According to our snoops, things have not been going well at the studio that is managed by Urban Boyz. Information reaching our desk indicates that the relationship between Melody and the studio’s main producer Piano is not at its best and he decided to call it quits.

Another reason given for his leaving is the way his close friend, Amag the Black was unfairly handled and he fears that the same might happen to him.

As we speak, our scouts indicate that the studio is left with only Urban Boyz and a few struggling musicians.
