Editor,

I would like to commend your team’s efforts for publishing informative issues regarding women and gender equality. I’m very confident that your efforts will accelerate in 2015.

Although congratulations are in order for Ms Jacqueline Kamanzi Masabo who was recently appointed as the Executive Secretary of the National Women Council, my thumbs up go to Christine Tuyisenge who occupied the position for the last seven years.

During Christine Tuyisenge’s tenure as the Executive Secretary for the National Women Council, we have seen women in Rwanda get empowered, especially those in rural areas.

Tuyisenge has been a great mouth piece for women empowerment and advocate for women’s rights all the time.

We can see this through a variety of stories that have been published in this same paper for example the one on who is behind trafficking young girls into sex slavery?

All I wish to say is that as woman, I wish to thank Tuyisenge for her great work on empowerment as well as wish Jacqueline Kamanzi Masabo great luck in her new role.
