The 2014 Ombudsman Cup champions AS Kigali and first runners-up Police FC have not yet received their prize money, it has emerged.

AS Kigali were supposed to receive Rwf3 million with Police FC getting Rwf2 million courtesy of the Office of the Ombudsman.

However, according to Ferwafa spokesperson Moussa Hakizimana, both teams are expected to receive their money this week. "There is no problem about their prizes. It is only bank transfers that are still in process,” Hakizimana said.

Eric Nshimiyimana’s AS Kigali won the 2014 Anti-Corruption tournament after beating Police FC 1-0 in a tense final encounter at Amahoro Stadium on December 7. In the semi-finals, Police FC beat Rayon Sports while AS Kigali eliminated APR FC.

The two-day Ombudsman Cup brought together the top four teams in the 2013-14 National Football League season.
