20 models pass semifinals at Supra Model Rwanda edition 2

Over 40 models who passed in front of the judges, only 20 lucky models were given a pass for the contest’s finals slated for October 28.

Before announcing the winners for the next page, models did a catwalk to show their modeling skills. Fifteen models were selected, adding to five models who were voted for the most.

The selected top models are Kelly Divine Umumararungu, Cynthia Uwikunda, Mignone Shalia Kaze, Leslie Umuhure, Elinda Iradukunda, Brenda Umutesi, Anitha Kamikazi, Nadine Uwiduhaye, Sandra Nshuti, Kelly Marara Munana, Jules Ruzindana, Eric Shema, Sincere Gihozo, Audrey Uwase, Josiane Usenga Josiane, Mike Manirakiza, Japhet Gacumakase, Joella Ingabire, Sonia Uwase and Nathalie Mukankusi.

Alphonse Nsengiyumva, the brains behind Supra Model, revealed that the preparations for the finals that will award 3 top models are underway.

"This weekend, all models in the competition will have Tembera U Rwanda tour challenge, to promote local tourism. Our fashion awards shows will be separated from the Supra Model competition,” he said.

Nsengiyumva highlighted that the overall winner will walk away with a prize of Rwf1, 000,000 and tickets to international stages, the commercial model Rwf300,000 and a ticket to international stage and People’s Choice Award winner will walk away with Rwf300,000.

Among other awards to recognize various players in the development of the fashion industry include fashion journalists, designers, photographers, SupraModel Achievement Award, the best model at the international stage, Best Fashion Entrepreneur, Best Makeup Artist, modeling agencies and the models who made the difference as per the public opinion and an identified jury.

The fashion event held its inaugural edition last year in a colorful fashion night held at Century Park promising fashion enthusiasts that it is here to stay. The first edition was considered a test and was successful, seeing that it is already receiving requests from international stakeholders to join it.
