"I’m the happiest mother today because I got to share a birthday with my daughter. I was also born on Christmas,” Tuyisabe said.

The 29-year-old, from Rubavu District in the Western Province, reached the hospital at 4am.

"I delivered her at 9am. She is my second born. My first born is also a girl,” Tuyisabe said.Meanwhile, a joyous Bernard Kwizera, her husband, said they had not yet chosen a name for the baby girl.

"We have nicknamed her ‘Nyiranoheri’ (related to Christmas Day) although we are still discussing on whether to name her Noella,” said Kwizera.

Jean Claude Ndikubwimana is another father that welcomed a baby girl at La Croix du Sud Hospital.

"It’s so amazing that we welcomed our first child on Christmas Day. Being Christians, we feel we have been extremely blessed.
