Fifteen clubs are set to compete in this year’s national Anti-Malaria Senior Karate Championships scheduled for Sunday at Amahoro National Stadium in Remera.

The three-day tournament will be sponsored by Imbuto Foundation, according to Rwanda Karate Federation (Ferwaka) technical director Guy Didier Rurangayire.

The tourney will see male and female teams compete in both Kumite (fighting) and Kata, respectively, with various medals and trophies up for grabs.

Winners of last year’s event included Nyamagabe Karate Club, who won the men’s Kumite contest, and the Rwanda National Police Karate Club that emerged victorious in the men’s Kata category.
