I was really impressed with the people on the list and I think it is right to celebrate outstanding talents and heroes in our midst. Their work has improved people’s lives and revealed something about ourselves and our country.

Their work should not be taken for granted because it is a great feeling when we stand before their incredible work of art, listen to testimonies told by people who have benefitted from their work or the world of memories we find unlocked with a simple movement or a single note.

Each one of these women who made it on the list chose to be selfless, to share with the world their talent and to touch people’s lives in ways that can’t even be described.

They are living examples that we should all try to emulate and support to make their work better. It is such people that make the world a much better place. I salute them!
