Bizimana eyes Goma Open tennis triumph

Rwanda national tennis player Anatole Bizimana is determined to bring this year’s Goma open trophy to Rwanda. The tournament starts this afternoon at Karibu hotel in Goma.

Four players that include top seed Jean Claude Gasigwa, Mathieu Uwizeyimana, Anatole Bizimana and Olivier Havugimana will represent Rwanda in the week long tournament that has attracted players from DRC, Burundi and Uganda.

"All the players representing Rwanda are very good and have all participated in various international Tennis competitions in South Africa, Turkey, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya respectively something I believe will be a plus for us,” Bizimana said.

The 20-year-old national Tennis player is one of the highly rated national tennis players having performed well in the recently concluded Bralirwa open in Rubavu where he finished second behind Gasigwa.

In 2013, Bizimana played in the Ghana and Benin open tournaments reaching the quarter finals in both competitions.

In October this year, Bizimana also took part in the Men’s circuit in Mozambique reaching the quarter finals.
