The highlyawaited gospel music gala is finally here. The second edition of the Groove Awards Rwanda will take place at Serena Hotel Kigali this Sunday.

Joy Wachira, the brand assets manager for Kenyan MoSounds Event, the awards organisers, said, "This year’s edition is going to feature electrifying performances. It’s a red carpet event.”

The country’s leading gospel musicians will be awarded in different categories at the gala.

In a press conference held last month, the organisers announced that all category winners will be awarded a fully paid professional album cover photo shoot in addition to a communication gadget. Additionally, this year’s male and female artistes of the year will be accorded a fully sponsored concert in Kigali.

The top two artistes will also be awarded an all-expenses paid trip to attend the 2015 Groove Awards Kenya.

"Groove Awards Rwanda suffered a big blow following the death of the project manager Patrick Kanyamibwa in September this year. It humbles me to note that the panel of judges, who are also the coordinators of the awards, stepped in to continue with the great work already done,” said the chairman, Pastor John Kaiga.

This team of 12 which has taken the time to review submissions made by hardworking artistes will be announcing the list of nominees on Friday night at the Kigali Serena Hotel,” he concluded.

Tickets will be available at the venue for Rwf2000 and Rwf5000.
