Oda Gasinzigwa, Minister for Gender and Family Promotion

Well, for Christmas, I would gather all the children and the rest of our family to spend the holiday with my mother. That would be special and the perfect thing to do for my mother on Christmas.

My mum loves flowers, so I think I would buy flowers for her. But the first thing I would give her is my time.

I would buy her a traditional dress (umucyenyero) of great quality because it means that I want her to shine with beauty. As a woman, looking good is a value I think she would enjoy. But again, it depends on what she loves, her personality, and what she needs.Sandrine Isheja Butera, Presenter Kiss FM

I am going to take her to a spa for a full body massage so she can get a manicure, pedicure and get her hair done; basically treat her like a queen. Then after I will take her for dinner, it will be a girls’ night out. I want to do that for her because she is a workaholic, so for this one day, I want to get her off work to enjoy life.

There is a perfume she likes called Cinema and I am planning to buy it for her. Plus I will also get her a traditional dress (umucyenyero). Since she is my mother I cannot give her a skirt or top, but rather a dignifying umucyenyero.

It’s complicated to find something you can give as a gift to your mum considering she is of great importance. But on Christmas, I would prefer to bake her a cake because it holds a lot of meaning.

I would pay for a month long holiday for her at a nice resort. She really works hard all year so this would be a good way to relax.

Ciney, Musician

Ciney,

I would love to give her a house; it’s one of the first things one needs in life. Seeing as I am the first born in my family, my mum would be so proud of me.

Evelyn Umurerwa, RBA presenter

My mum loves Holy things, so I have made for her an image of Jesus and Mother Mary because I know she loves them a lot. It’s one of the gifts that I’m certain will make her happy. Also, we will spend Christmas with her and my family.
