APR go five points clear

TABLE LEADERS APR defeated Amagaju 2-1 yesterday in Nyamagabe to hand the hosts their first home loss this season in the National Football League.

Jean-Pierre opened the scoring for Amagaju in the ninth minute but the reigning champions equalized through Jean-Baptiste Mugiraneza in the 48th minute before Pacifique Rwabirinda scored an own goal.

APR are now five points clear on the table standings with 23 points, five ahead of archrivals Rayon Sports and AS Kigali who are tied on 18 points with the same goal difference of nine.

Elsewhere, Mukura registered their second straight victory after a 2-1 win over bottom side Isonga which is yet to win a game this season.

Police FC also beat Musanze 1-0 to move into in fourth position with 17 points.
