Guests at Mt. Kenya University graduation ceremony will have a taste of Rwandan music, as Afro-soul singing sensation Martin Maniraruta, aka Mani Martin and his Kesho band grace the ceremony in a live performance.

The ceremony will be held today at Mt. Kenya University in Thika, Nairobi.

Mani Martin, who is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Communications at Mt. Kenya University, Rwanda, was invited as a student to perform at University’s main campus in Kenya.

In a phone interview, the "My Destiny” singer told The New Times, that he was delighted to perform at this ceremony in Kenya.

"Such an event is good for Rwandan artistes because it helps us to launch and maintain a strong hold in East Africa. It’s a big opportunity for me,” said Mani Martin.

Mani Martin and his band left for Kenya yesterday, ahead of the ceremony.

Guests and students will probably get the chance to hear some of the singer’s hit songs such as My Destiny, Intero y’amahoro, Urukumbuzi, Akagezi ka Mushoroza and Amateka, among others.

Growing up as an orphan, Mani Martin often felt lonely and voiceless. Now an adult and a successful musician, he uses his talent to give other orphans a voice and acts as an ambassador for those who grow up without parents.
