La Liga’s Racing Santander striker Mohammed Tchite a.k.a Meme may turn to Amavubi Stars after efforts of play for Belgium faded yesterday.

Tchite who was summoned last week to feature in today’s Belgium 2010 World Cup qualifier against Estonia due in Brussels left the team’s camp on Friday.

According to reports, Tchite was dropped for the qualifier on Fifa’s request after the world body had underlined that Tchite was only eligible to play for Rwanda.

Tchite, who is eligible to play for DR Congo, Burundi, Belgium and Rwanda, has been at center of loyalty ‘war’ between the Burundian and Rwandan football governing bodies.

Tchite started his footballing career with Prince Louis in Bujumbura before featuring for Rwanda’s Mukura Victory Sports FC in 2002.

In 2003, Tchite made his professional debut for Belgian club Standard Liege.

He publicly made his intentions of playing for Belgium clear when he became a Belgian citizen back in July but Fifa denied him the right of featuring for Belgium.

After endless efforts to persuade Tchite to don national team colors, Ferwafa’s efforts are said to be on the verge of reaping big after it was reported that Tchite could make his mark when Amavubi host Ethiopia in October.
